Paul came to Y H & C Investments as the brother of a close family friend, Patricia.  He is a retired doctor who was looking for an advisor to handle his investment situation.  His objective was to earn 8-10% returns without taking undue risk.  The capital being deployed is important to him as it will be passed on to future generations.  Y H & C Investments created a portfolio which was structured with large companies in mature industries.  All earn dividends and have a long history of paying them.  After a few years, Paul was able to take the capital gains and buy a house for his daughter.  He then returned the capital back and Y H & C continues to manage these assets in a prudent way.  Pau remains a trusted friend and client.

Nathan is a family friend who is a part time doctor.  Nathan had capital in a IRA which was not being used and wanted a better return than the cash return.  At the time the cash return yielded less than 1%.  Nathan gave Y H & C discretion to invest the capital in a prudent and thoughtful way with no restrictions.  The asset value has increased nicely.  Nathan continues to receive the yearly Required Minimum Distribution as the government mandates and there have been no penalties or problems with this requirement.  Nathan used capital from the IRA to help his sister buy a house which better fit her living situation.  He also subsequently opened a taxable account, which has also grown in asset value.  Nathan remains a trusted friend and client

Rachel is a friend of an existing client who works part time. She needed help with her investments and opened a taxable separately managed account. Rachel looked for returns which were consistent with the market and her risk tolerance which is considered conservative but aggressive. Rachel sometimes would call during market downturns to ask what Y H & C thought of the market. She was relieved to know what kinds of companies and assets she owned and understood during downturns to hang in there and stay the course. If possible, she would contribute during the pullback.
